Feng Shui is how you interact with your environment to create balance and harmony. Your environment is not a passive backdrop against which your life unfolds, on the contrary, the environment “reflects and affects you”, enhancing your vital energy, your life force, also known as chi, or depleting it.
The chi is the universal energy that connects you to everything in your environment, therefore making everything in your environment important as it affects the level of your chi, energizing you or draining you.
As you correlate the arrangements of your house with your goals and dreams you begin to recognize what is enhancing your well being and what is weakening it.
Feng Shui can activate and circulate the
chi and put you back on the map of life
Two major obstacles can block your sense of general well being: Clutter and Fear of Change
DeClutter or the Principle of Emptiness : Clutter starts in the mind then rolls onto the floor...
Where in your home do you have clutter, where in your life do you feel cluttered?
- Have you got the habit of storing clothes, shoes, furniture, utensils and useless objects thinking that one day you may need them? Do not do it, you’re going against your prosperity!
-
- Goods must circulate; clean your drawers, the wardrobe, the garage, the shed....Get rid of what is broken, what has lost its color and lustre.
-
- Give away what you have not used for some time, the attitude of keeping a heap of useless stuff ties your life down.
-
- Do you want to clear clutter and have fun doing it? Do you want to feel good, bring joy to this part of your life?
- I can show you how to let the new enter your home and yourself! How?
-
- How about right now, as you’re reading these words you promise yourself to start today with one drawer, any drawer, you decide, clean it, organize it, then another one tomorrow, and one the day after until all drawers are clutter free and tidy.
- Clear the clutter from your home on a regular basis if you want new opportunities to come knocking at your door. Create a breathing space; make room for new possibilities to enter your life by keeping a clutter free home.
On Fear of Change “Don’t let your tomorrows become a replay of your yesterdays”
Change can be scary to a lot of us because we are creatures of habit, change means letting go of old patterns and embracing new ones. Change means challenging our comfort zone, venturing into new and unknown territories.
" But change can also be fun and playful; it teaches us to dance with the moment. So relax and be fanciful, fantastic, freaky, fabulous, it's all going to change, anyway!"
Change can be as simple as sitting in a different chair at the dining table or gaining a new perspective of a room by moving an art work to another wall, even buying a new plant. When you watch TV tonight, try changing your usual place and see your living room from a different angle.
By welcoming change into your home, the stagnant CHI’ begins to circulate again and that creates movement which can open the door to all possibilities.
Sometimes when I introduce myself as a feng shui consultant, people that are fearful of change respond to me in the following manner:
- I cannot feng shui my house; I’ve just finished decorating it.
- In feng shui we are concerned with how the objects you surround yourself with make you feel, how you relate to them and them to you. How is your environment affecting you?
-
- I don’t want to move furniture around in my home; I like things the way they are.
- Let me ask you, what if moving your furniture around or replacing old, dated items meant going from feeling okay to feeling fabulous? What if moving your bed around not only improves your sleep patterns but also empowers you?
-
- I don’t want to spend money on buying new items; I already have everything I need.
- Spending money on buying new items is not a prerequisite in feng shui unless we’re talking about old, faded or broken items that need to be replaced.
What tools do I use to restore balance, harmony and well being?
I use different tools such as the Bagua Map, a grid of 9 sections; each of these 9 areas holds a different energy and corresponds to a specific area of your home and the corresponding aspect of your life.
“When you seriously embrace the directives of the Bagua Map, obstacles fall away, powerful changes occur and blessings manifest”
